Directors Louise and David Gorrod have carved themselves a niche within the PR industry since the launch of PR-Girl Ltd in 2001.
Set up in 2001 by Louise, PR-Girl Ltd set out to take a selective mix of young new designers, shops and brands within the lifestyle and interiors sector under her wing.
Prior to becoming freelance, Louise worked in PR for The Conran Shop and prior to that Urban Outfitters. Both roles awoke her to some of the amazing up-and-coming designers, brands and shops that were happening in London and the UK; they were so much more exciting than the big high street brands.
What’s more, these bright young things needed exposure and no pr consultancy would entertain them, as they were unable to afford the hefty fees demanded from them. Sadly money speaks louder than supporting our home-grown talent.
In the summer of 2004, in order to cope with the demands of the growing business David left his background of print and design to work full-time with Louise in developing PR-Girl Ltd.
Working from their office in Hove, East Sussex, costs are kept competitively low. From here they look after their selection of clients achieving valuable coverage for them in a number of publications. They use their combinations of knowledge and experience to work towards each client's aspirations, communicating with them regularly via email and phone, although still meeting to chat about ongoing and forthcoming PR projects over a skinny decaf latte when the occasion calls.
PR-Girl Ltd offers a unique service: one that combines the benefits of exposure in the consumer and trade media together with an effort to open up new markets. It is a bespoke service tailor-made to the individual needs of the client.
PR-Girl Ltd is rapidly expanding and can now assist clients in many aspects of promotion including photography, graphics and printing all that stuff designers just don’t have time for, and all within a sensible budget.
